Living In Japan
Japan is a country made up of an archipelago of 6,582 islands, although 98% of the territory is made up of its 4 main islands: Hokkaidō, Honshu, Kyushu and Shikoku. In Japan, a city is a local administrative unit. Cities are at the same administrative level as towns and villages, with the difference that they are not part of a district. Like any other contemporary administrative unit, they are defined by the Local Self-Government Law of 1947. It has a population of almost 130 million, of which 35 million live in Tokyo and its metropolitan area. Yokohama and Osaka are the other two cities with more job opportunities for foreigners, especially the second one due to its large port activity. For the last 10 years we have been moving to Japan, with frequent departures from all over Spain and delivering anywhere in the country.
The Japanese territory is located in the region called Northeast Asia or East Asia, east of the Eurasian continent. It is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, the Sea of Okhotsk, the Sea of Japan and the East China Sea.
Japan’s easternmost tip is Minami-Tori Shima Island, its westernmost tip is Yonagunijima Island, its southernmost tip is Oki-no-Tori Shima Island, and its northernmost tip is Etorofu Island.
Language
There are several regional dialects in Japan, but the official language is the Japanese language, which is spoken in Tokyo. With 99% of its population using it, it can be said that Japan is linguistically homogeneous. This language is rarely used in the rest of Asia, outside Japan.
Climate
Japan, because of the position and length of the country, has a certain variety of climates, although the main one is the humid subtropical climate, which is warmer in the south and much cooler in the center and north. … Japan has hot, humid summers and cold but short winters.
